Description
Not Much Depth? You Can Still Have a Big Fire View
Many stoves are too deep for a small chimney recess or a shallow space. The Hunter Herald 5 Slimline Eco solves that. It is only 357mm deep, but it keeps the full width of the standard Herald 5, so the flame view stays wide and impressive.
Where Can It Go?
It works in any installation, but it is a particularly good fit for a shallow enclosure. You can fit it:
- Into a fireplace opening
- Freestanding against a wall
No Extra Ventilation Needed
The nominal heat output is 4.9kW, with a range from 4.0kW to 6.5kW. At this output the stove can be fitted without any additional ventilation, which keeps your install simple. It is a good match for standard sized rooms. An external air connection is also possible if you prefer it.
Burn Wood in a Smoke Control Area
The stove has passed all the tests set by DEFRA. That means you can burn wood cleanly and legally, even in a Smoke Control Area, as long as you use the stove as the maker says. It is also EcoDesign ready, with cleanburn technology for a cleaner burn.
Built Strong, Easy to Live With
- Strong body: the stove is made of heavy gauge steel with a stylish cast iron door
- Clear glass: a powerful Airwash system helps keep the window clear, so you can always see the flames
- Easy ash removal: the internal riddling de-ashing grate and ashpan come as standard, a feature customers love
Single or Double Door
Choose the door that suits you. The single door gives a clear, unobstructed view of the fire. The double door gives a more traditional look.

Is the Herald 5 Slimline Eco Right for You?
Choose it if you want the look and feel of a full-size wood burner but have limited depth. It is clean, efficient and simple to run, with a big view of the flames.
- Depth: Your text says 358mm (14″) in one place and 357mm in your spec list. I used 357mm. Check which is correct for your page.
- Output: The spec list shows both 4.9kW nominal and 5kW “heat output”. I used 4.9kW because the description and range match it.
- Warranty: “2 years extendable to 5 years” came from the spec list you pasted, which links to another retailer. Check it with your supplier before publishing, and say if you’d like me to remove it.
